How might the Movement Strategy help?

  • Subsidised fares through working with West of England Mayoral Combined Authority and our Enhanced Partnership with First Bus, free travel for under 16s during school holidays have begun as of 2025. BANES will continue to advocate for additional subsidised fares to support families to travel easier through the Enhance Partnership.
  • More reliable buses will be achieved through the delivery of bus priority corridors (Lever 5) ensure that buses receive priority on key corridors.
  • Safer neighbours will be delivered through our Liveable neighbourhood's scheme which aims to promote safer travel for all families through the area (Lever 3). Furthermore, the development of school travel plans aims to improve access for all students traveling to/from schools (Lever 15)
